Wau-Waria was established as a new district in 2022. It started with limited institutional structures, resources and capacity, but in a relatively short period, important foundations for development were established under the leadership of the new district’s pioneer MP, Hon Marsh Narewec, working together with the District Administration, LLGs, partners and our communities.
There is still a lot of work to do, but there is also progress worth documenting and understanding. Over the coming weeks, we will be sharing one governance topic every Monday to give our people a clear picture of what to expect.
THE WAU WARIA 10-PART GOVERNANCE SERIES
Creation of the District → Leadership → Institutions → Planning → Finance → Digital Governance → Transparency → Partnerships → Achievements → Challenges.
The aim is simple: to inform, create understanding and encourage informed discussions about where Wau Waria has come from, what has been built and the work that remains ahead.
Watch this page as we will be sharing short and sharp weekly updates on major sectors starting with Governance and Institutional Capacity, followed by education, health, roads and infrastructure, law and order, youth and social programs, economic development, partnerships and other areas.
Again the purpose is to INFORM our people with FACTS and documented progress so our citizens, leaders and communities can better understand WHERE Wau Waria has come from, WHAT has been achieved, what CHALLANGES remain and what needs to be done NEXT.
Let us discuss our district based on facts, progress and the work that remains ahead. Wau Waria has come a long way. There is much more to build.
God bless Wau Waria
